Our Safaris
Two of Kambaku’s destinations are located within the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve — a vast, pristine expanse of 60,000 hectares of unspoiled African bushveld, forming part of the Greater Kruger ecosystem. This is Big Five territory at its most authentic, where lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo roam freely alongside cheetah and African wild dog.
With only two vehicles permitted per sighting, every game drive at Kambaku is an exclusive encounter — unhurried, intimate, and entirely on nature’s own terms.

Kambaku Kubs Program
At Kambaku Safari Lodge, we believe a family safari in South Africa should be as extraordinary for children as it is for adults. Having raised our own family in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, we understand the curiosity children bring to the African bush — and we’ve built our Kubs Programme around it.
Designed specifically for younger safari guests, the Kubs Programme uses hands-on activities and guided discovery to inspire young minds to engage with the bush in a way that entertains, educates and ignites a lifelong love of wildlife and conservation.

Stretching 300km from Mossel Bay to the Storms River, the Garden Route is packed full of quaint towns, magnificent mountain ranges, sandy beaches, and indigenous forests. It is renowned for its culinary offerings, and a multitude of outdoor activities.Â
It is very popular with self drive guests visiting South Africa – meandering slowly, stopping to experience all that the Garden Route has to offer along the way. Scenic stops include Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, Sedgefield and Wilderness, to name but a few.Â
