The Kambaku brand was born from a single word — one that carries the weight of Africa’s wildest heritage.
Kambaku is the Tsonga word for a solitary elephant bull, a title of profound respect reserved for one of nature’s most magnificent creatures. The original Kambaku was no ordinary animal. He was one of Africa’s legendary Magnificent Seven — among the largest and most iconic elephant bulls ever recorded in the Kruger National Park, his tusks each weighing more than 60kg. He roamed the bushveld from 1930 to 1985, commanding the landscape with a quiet, timeless authority.
That spirit lives on in everything we do. The Kambaku brand stands for strength, reverence and authenticity — a commitment to preserving Africa’s extraordinary natural heritage while sharing it with the world in the most meaningful way possible.

Behind the brand is a deeply personal story. Owners Bryce and Nicola chose to raise their family in one of South Africa’s most extraordinary wilderness settings — a place where wildlife is not just conserved, but celebrated and shared with the world. It is this lived experience, this genuine love for the African bush, that gives the Kambaku brand its soul.
That vision has grown into three distinct destinations, each with its own character, yet united by the same heartfelt reverence for the natural world and the landscapes that inspire it. Today, Kambaku welcomes guests from across the globe to experience Africa as the family intended — intimately, authentically, and with an open door.
